Crowns are precision fitting, permanent restorations fitted to your teeth when the tooth is so damaged or heavily filled that it needs strengthening.
If you need a crown we will help you choose the material it should be made from, depending on where in the mouth it is. If it is at the front of your mouth we will match it to your existing teeth so that it looks and feels completely natural and no-one will be able to distinguish the difference.
In the practice we normally manage to place your crown within two visits, but this may vary slightly in more extensive cases. While dental crowns do not require any change in your normal oral hygiene regime, they do not protect the underlying tooth from decay or disease. We recommend that you continue with a good level of oral hygiene and that regular appointments with our hygienist may help you maintain the integrity of your investment.
